Uusi tapahtumakonsepti on ilmestynyt Ynnän tapahtumakalenteriin!
Ynnän käsityökerhon tarkoituksena on koota Ynnän kutojat, neulojat sekä kaikki muut käsityöintoilijat kerran kuukaudessa nauttimaan käsitöistä ja kanssaynnäläisistä samanaikaisesti. Jokaiselle Ynnän käsityökerhon tapaamiselle asetetaan yhteinen aihe, jotta voit halutessasi tehdä samaa käsityötä muiden osallistujien kanssa. Mikään pakko ei kuitenkaan ole tehdä aiheen mukaista käsityötä, vaan olet enemmän kuin tervetullut mukaan myös jatkamaan villapaita-ikuisuusprojektiasi tai aloittamaan ensimmäisen villasukkakokeiluasi!
Käsityökerhon ensimmäinen tapaaminen pidetään ke 21.9. klo 17 Agoralla tilassa Ag Alfa. Ensimmäisenä aiheena on keskosten turvalonkerot. Turvalonkero tuo rauhaa ja luottamusta vastasyntyneille, ja niiden on havaittu antavan turvallisuudentunnetta myös muistisairaille vanhuksille. Erityisesti keskosilla turvalonkerot toimivat turvallisena vaihtoehtona pieniin käsiin helposti eksyville johdoille ja piuhoille, joihin potilaan ei olisi hyvä koskea.
Turvalonkeron ohjeen voit katsoa jo etukäteen täältä, jotta osaat varautua oikeiden tarvikkeiden kanssa. Huomioi erityisesti, että turvalonkeroihin tulee käyttää lankaa, josta ei lähde karvoja tai nyppyjä. Esimerkiksi puuvillalangat ovat tähän projektiin sopivia.
Äläkä murehdi, jos et ole vielä käsityövirtuoosi! Tämän käsityökerhon tarkoituksena ei ole kilpailla käsityötaidoissa tai nopeudessa, ja apua varmasti löytyy kaikennäköisiin käsityöongelmiin.

A new event concept has appeared in Ynnä’s event calendar!
Ynnä’s Craft Club is a place for all Ynnä’s knitters and other handiwork and craft people to gather together once a month to enjoy both grafting and the company of fellow ynnäers at the same time. Every meeting of the craft club will have its own topic so you can work on the same project as other participants. There is however no obligation to make the craft named for the meeting, and you’re more than welcome to bring your long unfinished and forgotten sweater project or to start your very first woolen socks!
The Craft Club’s first meeting will be on Wednesday 21.9. at 17:00 in Agora at the classroom Ag Alfa. The first topic will be crocheted octopi for preemies. These cuddly octopi toys are used as a form of therapy to help comfort and calm premature babies, and they’ve been observed to comfort also senior citizens with dementia. Particularly with preemies these octopi with their tentacles act as a safe alternative for the babies to grab with their hands instead of all the tubes that are helping the patient to get and stay healthy.
You can check out an example pattern here, so you know what you’ll need to bring with you. The important thing is that you choose a yarn that doesn’t shed or pill. For example cotton yarns are good for this project.
And don’t fret if you’re not yet a virtuoso or master in crafts! The purpose of this craft club is not to compete in craftmanship skills nor in speed, and there will be help available for all kinds of craft problems.
